When I started working with Ral, I was in the process of reviewing, analyzing, and taking over an existing group of vacation rentals that needed a more personalized approach. The properties needed closer localized management, stronger systems, and more thoughtful yield management to attract the right bookings and improve overall performance.

At that point, I was working well beyond a normal full-time schedule and was very closely tied to the daily operations of the business. I love traveling, and one of the biggest personal shifts was going from always needing to be available and close by, to being able to take several shorter trips each year, and eventually extended trips to Europe.

The biggest outcome was not one single change, but a gradual shift in how I operated. I began moving from carrying every detail personally to building a more structured and sustainable team and business. That included refining team roles, strengthening systems, improving decision-making, and creating a clearer operational foundation.

This past year has required me to step back into a more intensive season while restructuring, hiring, and training for a key position, along with onboarding a flagship property. The project management and preparation involved have temporarily pulled me away from traveling and back into overtime mode until the team is fully augmented and the new property is well underway.

Even with that, the larger shift remains clear. Working with Ral helped me better understand how to think like an owner, identify where support was needed, and make stronger long-term decisions for the business, the guest experience, and my own life.
